Fall Sports Planning
It has been two years since we fielded a boys soccer team. We’d love to reestablish the team this year. If you are interested in playing boys soccer, please email the athletic director at email@example.com so we can start building a roster. We will also welcome back our cross country and girls volleyball teams. And, we are always looking for soccer and volleyball coaches. Visit the LIONS sports website for more information: www.lionshomeschoolsports.org/.
The third annual LIONS sports banquet will be held during the month of May. Details will be sent by email.
HEARTS is partnering with GUMC to help them fill backpacks for the Backpack Buddies program. This ministry provides meals for disadvantaged students in our area who rely on the school for their meals. To support the program, please bring single-serve, lightweight, microwavable, and easy-to-open pantry items. (Imagine a five-year-old preparing the food for himself.) Donations will be collected in labeled plastic bins in the GUMC main hallway.

Spanish Immersion Preschool
Set your preschooler (age 2-5) on the path to bilingualism by enrolling in a full immersion preschool program. We meet Thursday and Friday mornings from 9-11:45am in Ashburn. Countless studies have shown that the golden window of opportunity for language learning is in early childhood when the brain is able to soak up linguistic information like a sponge. Kaila’s mission through her school, Bilingüitos, is to create a positive multicultural learning environment where students explore and discover freely, immerse themselves in a new language, and gain the self-confidence they need as they grow into future bilingual leaders. Don’t let another school year go by without introducing your young learner to a new language!
